OCTOBER IS NATIONAL CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION MONTH!

October is National Careers in Construction Month! As the month comes to an end, we want to remember that there is always time to highlight the importance of the work this industry does. As well as the importance of encouraging future generations to consider work in the trades.

While the world and the workforces are constantly changing, one thing stays consistent, the need for infrastructure. The trades workforce provides so many of the things we need in our daily life. From plumbing and electricity to sewer and drainage, all of it is created by skilled, creative, and hardworking individuals. There are many different specialties in the crafts careers, you can find out more about different career paths at Build Your Future’s (the creator and promoter of National Careers in Construction Month) website. In fact, according to their statistics seven out of ten jobs in the US do not require a bachelor's degree. Starting an entry level job or going to trade school are a few ways to avoid mountains of student debt and also beginning meaningful careers straight out of high school.

42 states have proclaimed October as National Careers in Construction Month, including North Carolina. There are a lot of ways to show support for the blue-collar work field. By showing appreciation for our roads, plumbing, electricity, all things infrastructure and more we are supporting and celebrating those who work so hard to create them.
